What is Reiki?
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words, Rei - which means "God's wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki - which means "life force energy" and is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person, witht he goal of facilitating the person's own healing response.

Reiki is very soothing and relaxing, and may ease suffering from stress, anxiety, acute or chronic health concerns. Reiki promotes overall balance of an individual, which may help you feel and function better. NOTE: Reiki is not a substitute for emergency care and does not replace seeing a health care provider about a health problem. Reiki can support any health or medical treatment as well as medication prescribed by your doctor. Reiki can be found at many hospitals throughout the USA.

The National Council on Complementary Therapies of the NIH states: Reiki appears to be generally safe, and no serious side effects have been reported.

What will a Reiki session feel like?
You may sit or lay down fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner may either place their hands lightly on your body, or an inch or two away from your body if you prefer. Many report feeling heat or tingling in the area that is being worked on. Some individuals become so relaxed they fall asleep during the session. Is Reiki a religion? Will it interfere with my religious beliefs?
No, Reiki is not a religion. It does not interfere with any religious beliefs. There is no dogma or anything you have to believe in order to learn or use Reiki. Reiki has been taught worldwide, ad is practiced by individuals of all religions.
Can I learn Reiki?
Certainly! Reiki can be taught to anyone. If you are interested in learning Reiki, please contact me for a class in the Central Texas area at email@example.com. I teach the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki. I will travel if there is a group request of 12 students or more.
What are your qualifications to teach Reiki?
I took my first Reiki I class in September of 1996, Reiki II in March 1997, the Reiki Master Teacher class and training in October 1997 with Susie Tamim, Reiki Grand Master in Amman, Jordan, where I was living at the time. I have also taken additional classes, Level 4 and 5A with Susie. My lineage is Susie Tamim - Aila Norlano - Wanya Twan - Hawayo Takata - Chujiro Hayashi - Mikao Usui.
